This fictional biography of 1930's aviatrix/ horse trainer Beryl Markham tends to be a gossipy shadow of the memoir written by Beryl Markham, "West with the Night" (which was well written and more authentic). Abandoned by her mother (as was Paula McClain) and raised by her father in rural colonial Kenya, Ms. Markham leads a fearless life, culminating in being the first person to pilot the Atlantic west. This is the only fictional bio that I have read from this author, who enjoys a large following.
