Agatha Raisin and the Fairies of Fryfam --- by --- M.C. Beaton.
M.C.’s heroine turns snoop (again) to ferret out the perpetrator of the crime. The bodies stack up like so much cord wood as, once again, beats out the inept coppers in snooping out the murderer. The writing involves no gunplay but the sleuthing is exquisite. I’ve fallen love with Beaton’s style. In fact I’ve now exhausted all the print editions in my local library. Must I now submerge myself in the spoken-book versions of Raisin? Better to check the old book stores or the flea markets. Egad: some sleuthing of my own.
