I enjoyed this book. Her writing is lovely and I think she does a very good job at telling her story through a child's lens. It was a difficult read though - wading through her sadness and all of the horrible things that happened to her made it challenging to keep on reading.
I couldn't put this book down. This memoir is 400 pages of her life from age 5 until 12. So much happens in 7 short years of her life. I am appalled at the way children are treated. I know that her case is not a singular example of what children survive through. Her ability in writing this all down for everyone to read is a testimony of her inner strength to survive and move beyond her childhood. The peace she is seeking can only be found in Christ...
