Camp-Half Blood is supposed to be a place where demigods are safe from mythological monsters. However, someone poisoned Thaila’s(daughter of Zeus) tree which gives the barrier around the camp the power to protect. The camp counselor, Chiron is accused of this and a new counselor takes his place. The Golden Fleece is the only thing that will be able to heal Thalia’s tree and keep the camp safe from monsters. The new counselor, Tantalus, appoints Clarisse LaRue, daughter of Ares who is the god of war, to find the Golden Fleece. Meanwhile, Percy constantly gets dreams warning him that Grover is being hunted by a monster. He leaves camp along with Annabeth and Tyson(a cyclops and son of Poseidon) to save Grover. They reach Luke’s(son of Hermes) cruise ship only to discover he is a traitor to the gods, by working to revive the Titan, Kronos. After Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson escape, they join Clarisse on her quest. Together they must journey across the Sea of Monsters also known as the Bermuda Triangle to retrieve the Golden Fleece and save Camp-Half Blood.
What I like about this book is there is a lot more depth and background information given to the main characters especially Annabeth and Luke. I also like the mystery added to the beginning which keeps the reader interested for the rest of this book. Additionally, I like the ambiguous ending of the book. What I disliked about this book is the ending felt very rushed and it would have been better if the details were spread out more.

The second book in the Percy Jackson pentalogy series, The Sea of Monsters is a worthy addition to the series. Now thirteen year old Percy Jackson must venture out to save not only his close satyr friend Grover, but Thalia’s tree at Camp Half Blood which has been mysteriously poisoned. Many of the characters from the first book return, and are given meaningful arcs in the story. Again, author Rick Riordan incorporates many stories and references from Greek mythology into the book, teaching young readers about Greek mythology through an entertaining read. Throughout the book important themes such as family are discussed, giving young readers an important lesson to learn. Overall, The Sea of Monsters is a fun read that will surely entertain readers of any age.

AMAZING BOOK!!! really nice

Camp Half Blood was meant to be a haven for demigods. When the tree of the demigod daughter of Zeus, Thalia Grace is poisoned, however, the barrier around Camp Half Blood that prevents monsters from entering is weakened. The kind Camp Counsellor Chiron is falsely accused of poisoning the tree on the grounds that his father is Kronos, the evil titan of time. The new camp counsellor is Tantalus, a sinner who had the punishment of being starved and dehydrated while standing in a river with an apple hanging over his head. The only solution for the poisoning of the tree is to retrieve the Golden Fleece, which has incredible healing powers. In order to obtain this, a quest for the Golden Fleece is issued, but Tantalus refuses to allow Percy to participate in the quest. Percy receives a dream of his friend, Grover Underwood pleading for help, saying he is being held captive near the Golden Fleece.

Afterwards, Percy talks to Hermes about the god’s son, Luke who attempted to kill him. With his encouragement, Percy, Annabeth, and Percy’s half-brother, Tyson all leave camp to find Grover. They must save Grover, prove Chiron innocent, and heal Thalia’s tree, but most importantly, they must find out what Luke is really planning.

Great sequel to Lightning Thief. Fast paced and action packed like all other Rick Riordan books. The characters felt real and relatable, and the first person point of view made me feel immersed in the story.

After retrieving Zeus's lightning bolt and saving the world from the god's wrath, Percy Jackson doesn't anticipate much more trouble. Until the borders of Camp Half-Blood begin dissolving. With the help of his new friends Annabeth and Grover, they set out to find a magical item that will preserve their crumbling defenses: the Golden Fleece. Setting course to the sea of monsters is a daunting task, and one Percy can't do alone. Can him and is friends save the camp? This book is definitely a page turner, and will leave you rushing to the third novel.

Amazing book definitely recommend

THis was great. This series was probably the best greek, fantasy,
with powers book I ever read before for sure read it!!!!

SPOILER FREE- The book was great. It was not as good as The Lightning Thief, but was still great. I love Tyson, and his introduction at the beginning is great. There is incredible action, the plot isn't as good, but the characters maybe are even a bit better. I like the concept of having to get the fleece(not a spoiler it is literally on the back of the book), and having the Sea of Monsters in the Bermuda Triangle was a great choice. Great book.

After getting hooked on the Percy Jackson series, I found this book to be amazing! It's filled with action, drama, and everything in between! I cannot stop reading this series!

I liked this one a lot. It was better then the first one as well. I totally recommend it.
