This is a really beautiful Canadian picture book. The soft illustrations are really lovely, full of details and beautiful light. It is a wonderful story about the bond between generations and the bond between humans and nature. This gentle story will make you both want to hug somebody and also run outside and enjoy our gorgeous world. A really thoughtful and moving story. It has won numerous awards, including a Governor General's Award. A Canadian classic. Highly recommended.

An endearing, moving story. The illustrations are brilliant, in particular with fantastic depictions of how the light plays on the various scenes.
