Add a CommentI was a bit lost since I hadn't started off reading the previous books in the series, so the characters other than the main character seemed a bit indistinguishable. This woman was following clues and brought her cats along. There were some bad guys pursuing her and some other neighbours hanging around. The cats think... the mice think...the bricks talk to each other... the moon thinks... I can't imagine all objects talking to themselves like that. Plus it is kind of a history lesson, explaining some founders of California areas. Although I like California and cats, I give this book a thumbs down due to my confusion.
No one actually dies, but it is still an interesting mystery. I would read more of this series.
