Not as good as the first one, for several reasons:
- the characters weren’t as likable/nice
- the plot was stretched to unbelievability
- the villains tended to have sudden changes of character
It was pretty exciting, though, and the Virals’ superpowers were, as always, pretty awesome. Plus, Hi is basically the best character in the book—he's so funny :D
Personally, I ship Tory and Jason. I'm not so sure about Ben. Chance is stupid.
This is a great sequel to virals. A very enjoyable read.
Compelling and fast-paced. The multiple turns were fascinating and the characters fun, but starting to get a tad flat. Still looking forward to the next book.
I had to put down the audio version and pick up the hard back because there's something I love about Reichs' style! Having followed the Temperance story from almost the beginning, I'm always curious how far fact and plausibility scale in the books and where the magic actually begins, but I love the feel of the story. The characters are fun and the story exciting!
It took a completely different direction from Virals, and if you're looking for pure entertainment, you'll probably enjoy Seizure. It doesn't require much thought and it's definitely unrealistic (how in the world did they sneak away from their parents so easily?) but it has a cool premise and builds off that. The characters are likable, but they don't really matter much because the plot steals the show. If you like treasure hunt or adventure stories, this book is good for you.
Great sequel, the thing I love about these books is when anything scientific is being explained ( like the parvovirus) it's said in a way that's easily understood. Seizure kept me hooked till the very last page!
enjoyed reading this
I prefer this book to the first one, actually! Virals was good but I prefer the idea of a pirate treasure-hunt! I really like Tory's character and I love her pack. They all have such distinctive personalities. I love Anne Bonny, first of all, because she was something of a childhood hero to me, since she was a FEMALE pirate in a time where females weren't exactly what they are today. I loved the action in this book, and if there's one thing I want more in this book it's romance, but SIMPLY, because I'm just that kind of person. GREAT BOOK. A definite read. I cannot wait for the next one [Code]!
Very glad Kathy Reichs ventured into writing for teens. Looking forward to the third in the series
