I had never seen a Stella Rimington novel until I started to run out of books recently and noticed RIP TIDE on one of the display tables at my local library. Loved the book - great storytelling, plot and chief character (Liz Carlyle) and an absence of one improbable event after another so common today. The latter can be entertaining, of course, but this book had a very probable story with a good grasp of the world of spies - probably because of Rimington's own career. I won't go back an read the 5 previous Liz Carlyle books, but I was happy to see that since this one came out in 2011, there have been three others. I ordered the next in the series and just got an email noting it had arrived and is ready for pickup. Great timing and even better read. Enjoy.
