However, once Uncle Victor learns that Emily has inherited a fortune from Miss Nash, her mother's employer, he is determined to find Emily and get his hands on that fortune. We read this book aloud as a family activity. It was great fun. My son loved the different sayings that ended each chapter in giant print: "Now what in the flippin flapjacks is going to happen next?" The ending could have been expanded a bit for greater satisfaction and resolution.
