Another one of those adventure novels but this one invokes a little science-fiction: genetically engineered animals and (gasp!) even humans --- ok --- homi habilis. Rollicking good adventure. Predictable romance element, but palatable given the other strong elements of plot and suspense. Requires a certain suspension of disbelief, but is close enough to the plausible to be instructive. Can't wait to read the next instalment by James Rollins.
