Another fun read from Steve Berry. He keeps you interested in the series because in every book something new is revealed about the recurring characters. In this one, we find out more about Cotton Malone's father. The only thing I wish is that Berry would find some regular names/spelling of names for his women. Christl-really?

The Charlemagne Pursuit --- by Steve Berry. Berry never fails to deliver. His novels promise action and suspense in equal measure. He writes the kind story where, the one minute you say to yourself “oh yea, I know what’s gonna happen next; I’ve got it all figured out; I know who did it”, and then, the next minute, you say to yourself, “I didn’t see that coming”. Shocks and surprises are part of the high octane fuel this novel zooms by on. Take some tales of Chalmagne; a pinch of long-dead Nazis; but-freezing Antarctica; long lost experimental nuclear submarines; murder-agents for hire, and (gasp) an avuncular President of the United States and you’ve got some of the main ingredients of this novel. A quick read, a fast read, a fun read, an exciting read. Go for it!

I don't know what's was worse, the plot with its total lack of credibility, the forcing of the characters into the plot despite not fitting in at all, or Berry's philosophical musings through his characters. I thought this one was one of his worst books

Waste of time

This was not enjoyable; there was no pursuit. I was hoping for some history about Charlemagne, some twist about his life but all I get is some architecture of Aachen and two clues pertaining to him. It was disappointing: too many pages devoted to no plot.

Another amazing adventure for Cotton Malone, (dare I say) through the sands of time. A very enjoyable read.
