Add a SummaryThe book "Flush" by Carl Hiaasen is about a boy named Noah who's father got arrested because he sunk a ship called the Coral Queen. he sunk the ship because the boss of the ship has been dumping into the ocean. So, Noah and his little sister, Abbey have been trying to help their father prove that the owner was dumping, so he can get out of jail. They also got the help of a woman named Shelly, who didn't like the boss's actions either. they also got help from a stranger, who turned out to be Noah and Abbey's grandpa. But Noah and Abbey's plan isn't that easy. there were people who were on the boss's side and tried to make sure no one messed with the boss, or their ship. But luckily, in the end, the boss got busted, and Noah's dad got out of jail.
Noah and his sister Abbey must clear their father's as he commited a crime believing that Dusty Muleman was dumping sewage in the ocean.

Add a CommentFlush is a well-written and still relatively short book that has mystery, suspense, and action. Following in their father’s footsteps, young Noah Underwood, along with his sister Abbey, must attempt to discreetly finish the work he started: closing down the Coral Queen, a casino boat that they suspect is emptying its waste into the water. However, their father ended up in jail (once again) for his actions, so they must be careful with who they confide their information. And, on top of all of that, the two must grapple with the corresponding stress that correlates with trying to secretly uncover a massive illegal scheme. The plot is straightforward and easy to follow while also incorporating some unexpected twists. Especially in some later characters, there is some off-color language (that I believe could have been avoided to make this book friendlier to younger kids), but in between, there is no lack of wit, humor, and cliff hangers packed into this book.

:)
With his father in jail for trying to protect the environment, Noah feels he must take up where his dad left off. A suspenseful tale, full of Hiaasen’s usual colourful characters and humour.
Very nice book.
How many pages are there?
Just wondering... ^_^
This is a great book! Carl Hiassen really showed his true love for Florida, and did it well. I have read all 4 of his young adult books: Hoot, Scat, Chomp, and Flush, and they were all really good! Makes you really care about the environment.
A very good read. Makes you environmentally conscious and protective.
A good read with the environmental theme like all of Carl's books a good read.
Can somebody please help me? I need the best quotes from Noah, Abbey, and their father for a book report over the summer, but I returned the book! I need quote and page number! Please help me!
This was probably one of the best and funniest books I've read from 2010! Noah and Abbey are lovable and so are all the other characters, including Lice, the old drunk who does do something good in the end.
