But when she journeys west to teach school in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies, she's completely unprepared for the conditions she encounters. Still, she's determined to succeed at the formidable task of fitting in with the locals and shaping the hearts and minds of the schoolchildren in her care. She's just as determined not to give her heart to any of the local frontiersmen. Until she meets Wynn Delaney, a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Comment
Add a CommentEven before I finished "WCTH, I wanted to rate it 5 stars. It's that good! As is rare when I read a new book, I love into this one immediately. I had planned on reading a different book first,, but once I picked up "WCTH ", I just couldn't put it down. I loved almost every character but Lars was by far my favorite. Read it and you'll see why. I laughed out loud more times than I imagined I would but I was also moved to tears several times as well. Elizabeth's journey was perfect and it was so, so nice to read a book with absolutely NO swear words whatsoever; not even a minor one. There are a lot of religious references but they aren't forced; and instead made the book so much better. Janette Oke is now one of my favorite writers and I want to read all of her books. I hope they are at least half as wonderful as this one. I hear that the book is vastly different than the Hallmark series, but I hope that at least some of it is similar or I might be a little disappointed.
Elizabeth Thatcher goes out of her comfort zone in order to spread her wings and face new experiences. Her gentle spirit transforms a small town, providing the children with a much needed education and the tools to succeed. Elizabeth finds adventure, family, and even love in the untamed West.
This was a great book, I enjoyed reading it. It is a little different than the show. It was fast reading.

This (and the other books in this series) are one of my favorites!! It has romance, adventure, suspense, embarrassment, and everything along those lines in this book! It's definitely one of thee best books I've read... I was only really disappointed when I finished all of the books!! :)
