Too many details felt left out. I had way too many questions by the end of the book. Although, I enjoyed reading it, the ending wasn't enough for me.

I wish the author to explore linguistics, and turn the brevity of 100-word/day into concise, poetic, or codifying... While women are thought to make excess talks, a gender-biased fantasy dooms VOX. With points taken, how did the brain…

This book was just... alright. The writing wasn't spectacular, the story felt very predictable and overdone, but I wouldn't say it's bad. I didn't feel like there were any moments that caught me off guard or excited me, it just was what it…

Found this was just meh. I liked the premise of the story but thought the writing was a bit lame and cringey at times, and that the ending didn't really make sense. I struggled to make it through and was never really excited to read it.

eAudiobook is excellent. Well read; keeps you engaged with the story. The story is an update/twist/take-off on the Hand Maiden's Tale with the end of women's rights set in the current context. It was an easy, compelling read. It made me…

This is one of those books for me which is just meh. From the plot to the characters and beyond, the very concept of mediocre. There's nothing else that stands out. The author has somehow succeeded in taking a unique line of plot with…

While not as well written or as richly developed as The Handmaid's Tale Vox does have its moments. I got the feeling that Vox was written with the intention of making it into a movie -- one with a deus ex machina finish.

I thought this book was just awful and can't find one redeeming quality about it. When it wasn't seeming like a complete rip-off of The Handmaid's Tale, it was very unbelievable and also boring. I won't be reading another book by this…

I really think every woman should read this book. Not only is it well written but it could happen. When one looks at how fast women in countries like Iran lost their rights, you can actually believe that something like this could happen…

Written to scare women from religion and right politics. Extreme left political proposals such as the New Green Deal are just as scary - imagine no meat, no air travel, no choice, etc.

Powerful and Terrifying! We often say "that would never happen here", but the reality is, with a blink of an eye, citizens rights can easily be taken away. It takes a single group or a single-minded person in power to enact such…

This book had a lot of promise but fell short in a few areas. As others have mentioned, the ending felt particularly rushed; hardly surprising given that the author admits it was written in two months. Everything was wrapped up quite…

First novel from a talented, insightful author. The plot has uncanny similarities of past and present scenarios that hopefully never become future reality. Females comprise 50.8% of the world’s population; however, typically the world is…

It was hard to put down once I got into it. Would have given it a much higher rating but it became lacking in details as to how certain events actually transpired. In many places, the timelines were much too tight to be credible.

Dalcher's theocratic dystopia starts out looking like another version of Margaret Atwood's Gilead--but with the potential to become much, much worse. Remember the "fems" in Suzy McKee Charnas' post-apocalyptic "Walk to the End of the…

I enjoyed this book thoroughly. It has somewhat of a handmaid's tale but loosely. But when you read it as a woman you can completely relate to it.

While perhaps not as politically fleshed out as “The Handmaid’s Tale,” this story is an action-packed page turner. I found Dr. McClellan to be both a flawed and incredibly relatable character and Dalcher sets an energetic pace. For fans of…

The story itself is very dark and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The only reason this wasn't a perfect read for me is that I could not condone the actions of our narrator. While our narrator felt personable she was not likable. Its…

Powerful book that really describes how easily suppression of a group of people can occur when political agendas are not kept under control and balanced by the general population. Stay awake and alert. Vote.

Scary premise. I thought the book was well written and it certainly held my attention, though it’s one of those stories that seemed to me to have been written to facilitate adaptation into a movie. Nothing wrong with hoping for that,…

Overall I loved this story and the concept. However, I felt the ending was very hasty and left a lot of unanswered questions for me - like what about her parents? What about the baby? WTF about her new life? Sure, this seems like a…

DNF. Two stars for the concept, but only one based on execution. The author needed a more experienced fiction writer to make a pass at this. The dialogue is especially abysmal. I really had high hopes, so this review hurts.

In a book about big air quotes feminism, a man saves the day. She doesn't do all that much, in the end. And that end came too quickly; I guess there was some build up, but suddenly the book was just over, and nothing felt resolved at all.…

Really enjoyed this book. It starts off with a bang and keeps you pulled in the whole time you're reading. I listened to the audio book, it is read very well. Highly recommend.

Deeply disturbing. It couldn't happen here ...could it?
